Being the square a symbol of balance, this geometric shape was chosen to characterize this wine.
The main objective of the 1912 Winemakers enology team was to present a wine which had a good balance in the mouth, body, acidity and fruit flavour, so we could present a perfect sipping wine or an everyday wine to accompany a meal. An easy and pleasant wine with the commercial purpose of being the largest sales product of the entire portfolio.
Tradicional grape varietals from the Douro region, and subsequently a careful selection is made from the grape varietals: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
After a manual harvesting of the grape bunches in individual boxes of 25 kg, these were gently destalked and crushed, afterwards the must is placed into stainless steel vats where it ferments at a controlled temperature (26ºC - 28ºC).
It has a ruby colour with good intensity. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruits complemented by a light touch of spices protrude. In the mouth it is a wine with good structure and balance, good firm tannins with a well-integrated intensity, complemented by an elegant and persistent ending.
Should be served between 16ºC and 18ºC, as a garnish to assorted or smoked meats, cheeses and dishes of the traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
